What is Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club?
The Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club is part of a national fundraising organization which raises money for children's charities. We are one of four Active 20-30 Clubs in the Phoenix metropolitan area, and the only one that admits women to its membership.

How many members are there?
We have approximately 60 current members between the ages of 21 and 39.

How do I become a member?
We hold two membership drives per year. During those membership drives prospective members are required to attend three meetings and one "hands-on" event within a designated period of time as well as pay a $30 application fee to be paid no later than your second meeting. After completing the prospective requirements, prospective members are voted in by the board.

What are the time commitments?
We ask that all members attend 60% of the meetings in a quarter, standing committee meetings as scheduled, and fully participate prior to and on the day of our fundraising events. We also require that members participate in a Florence Crittenton event at least once a quarter. General meetings generally last 1-1.5 hours. Formal meetings sometimes last longer if we have a guest speaker. Standing committee meetings may last longer depending on committee goals.

What are the financial commitments?
Our monthly dues are $25, paid in quarterly installments of $75. Our national dues are $80 per year, paid in July. National dues are prorated if needed for new members.

How often do we meet?
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. Meeting locations may change and additional meetings (Executive or standing committee meetings) may be scheduled.

Can I expect a meal at every meeting?
During our formal meetings (the second meeting of the month), we usually schedule our meeting around dinner by patronizing one of our sponsors. During informal meetings, we usually do not eat.

Do we support other 20-30 Clubs?
We have terrific relationships with all three Valley men's Active 20-30 Clubs. We often volunteer for their events, donate money toward their charities, and offer names of potential new members for their clubs. Many members of the men's clubs have participated in our fundraising events as well.

Do we have social events with other 20-30 Clubs?
In the past we have enjoyed happy hours, mixers and holiday parties with the other clubs. Our Social Chairperson coordinates with the other clubs on arranging these, and we hope to have many more in the near future.

What are standing committees?
Standing committees support specific aspects of the club, which need more time and manpower than a general meeting. Standing Committees include: Charities/Events, Membership, Public Relations, and Social. The by-laws require all members to be involved with one standing committee.
